It couldn't be him. But it was. There he lay, cold and pale. The usual handsome smile she remembered wasn't there. It was gone, and so was he. It happened so quickly. She thought back to a few days earlier. They had an argument. She didn't even remember what it was about. Probably something small, like why he didn't call her. They made up as usual, but this time it was slightly different. This time he expressed his love in a different way. A ring.
